Fishwise — Privacy Policy

What we collect

Fishwise has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address or any identifier that points at you.

Photos

When you identify a fish, the photo is sent to our server and forwarded to OpenAI’s API, which analyses the image and returns the likely species. We do not store your photo on our server. Under OpenAI’s API policy, data sent through the API is not used to train their models.

Photos you save to your Cooler stay on your device only. They are never uploaded.

Location

If you allow location access, your coordinates are sent to our server once per lookup to find the nearest waterbody and return its published limits. Coordinates are used for that request and are not stored or logged against you.

Your catches

Your Cooler — names, lengths, weights, photos, the rule shown at the time — is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it. There is no cloud backup and no sync.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and by RevenueCat, which handles receipt validation. We never see your payment details.
